* Judges may not enter a map themselves.

Afer that the four judges ''[[User:MeatROme|MeatROme]]'', ''[[User:Halo|Halo]]'', ''makkE'' and ''[[User:R4zor|R4zor]]'' have started to rate the maps. The following categories have to be put into their consideration: the layout, the use of textures, the use of lights, the level of details and how good the given theme has been catched. Each category has to be rated with 1 to 10 points. After that the average value has been calculated. The final score of a map is then the addition of the average values given by all judges for the that map.

Unlike its predecessors and also as a result of the failed [[2nd AssaultCube Mapping Competition]], this event featured several new winning categories: The ''best newcomer'' (best new mapper in another words), the ''best idea'', the ''best for gameplay'' (how well it plays) and the ''best in show'' (the grand winner). The main reason for this was to give people more to aim for and to let the new mappers enter without worrying about the experienced mappers.
